  • Here's a little about what I've been doing the last several months.

Summit Shredders  Our Camp Andrews BOB trip to Vermont.

On the summit of Mt. Mansfield.

The joys of snowshoeing. Here's climbing Jay Peak

Starting out at the top, oh the powder.

Getting close to the bottom of Jay Peak

    Valentines Day :)

    Milking cows

    COLORADO!

Sweet sweet mountains. The way God made them.

Jess, having happy thoughts. This is close to where I sprained my ankle when I hit a tree. Yup, a sprained ankle from snowboarding. How wierd is that. Frustrating it was, but with God's help I still danced.

Hey, we're "out west" we gotta ride. :)

    Keith, Jess, and I

    Haywire!

How much farther to go? Since I had a disability, Jess valiantly packed all our luggage on the flight home.

    Next chapter: Camp Andrews

Benji, me, and Jess. The 3 of us get the privilege of working together at Camp Andrews this year.

    Geocaching

Enjoying a beautiful evening at "the pinnacle".

    Life is Good.

    Learning Scandinavian style kayaking/rolling techniques

This is PA! There are some sweet places here after all.

And here's the coolest way to get there!

Benji showing off his climbing moves while stapling.

    "working" :)

And this was just last night. After a hard day of "playing" , this is the way to chillax.

Right now we're doing a lot of prep/training/maintainance for the summer. We've got weekend groups here, and in a few weeks we'll start our canoe trips, but Camp really comes alive when June rolls around. Be  well folks!

  • Just got back from a grand trek in New Hampshire w/ IMCS (International Mountain Climbing School) where we climbed Mt. Washington!

Here's Teresa and I, all fresh and eager to learn all about winter mountaineering.

    Snowshoeing is SO much fun!

    A short break

    IMG_8099

Still yet higher! Breaking out of the trees and entering the alpine zone.

    IMG_8101

And even higher still! We're now full in the wind, thankfully it was coming kinda from the back and helped push us up the mountain.  All you could see was gray and white and rocks.

    IMG_8103

At the summit! What a rush!

    IMG_8110

Then in answer to our prayer, The clouds suddenly pealed away and it was crystal clear for miles and miles! The view was truly breathtaking, let alone the wind.

The observatory on top that's maintained all year long.

Here's a distant shot of Mt. Washington, taken on the fly as we drove by.

  • Time goes too fast. That is my most recent revelation.
In the last few weeks I've had the privilege of going on two more canoe trips. The first one I got some pics and the other I don't have any pics 'cause a certain somebody never got them to me yet. : ) But it was a good trip nonetheless.
*editors note*  Thanks to a certain individual, we've been able to gain access to a limited number of photos for trip #2. ;p

    We were the Bumper Busters

On a Tri-state rock! NJ, PA, and NY all at once!

Some kind of ceremony centered around food (This happens quite frequently on BOB trips)

Yes it's real! And yes it's BIG

Tossing a throw-rope to a poor victim "bumper busting" thru some rapids

    Pulling the victim to safety

PRIDE in campsite! Impressive, huh? Catch this ladies, this was an ALL guys group! See, we can be neat and tidy too. : )

Baking/roasting/charring/burning our bread-on-a-sticks. Fill'm w/ pie filling, squirt some sweetened condensed milk on top, OH YEAH! It just doesn't get much better.

Uhhh...."Kendall, the water is supposed to stay in the river!"

Wringing out the clothes is a great team initiative.

Laziness is the mother of all inventions. GET THIS! At one point the wind was pulling so hard on the sail that the back of our canoes were only about 1 inch out of the water! I have never in all my days gone so fast in a canoe.

    This be da party boat!

Getting ready for our adventure race.

The FEAST at the top of the mountain. Hats off to Ervin, Glen, Merlin, and Travis for all their sweat, blood, and tears.

Yes, we're ON TOP of the mt. and it's a celebration/birthday cake! With ice-cream!!!

This is what we did for the next hour. I think all of us over-exerted ourselves on the food, as well as the trail.

And here we are hiking back down to civilization.

  • Just a quick update! Got some pics from our last trip to Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario.

    September W.I.L.D. 07

Chris and Debra are super high quality folks. They pulled out the stops on this breakfast at 5am!

Stopped at Niagara Falls on the way up

    !!!

The first morning on Rain Lake!

    Portaging

Hey! I thought we were gonna go canoeing, not backpacking!

    Uhhhhhhh.....Which way to go now???

Hiking in the lake was easier than bushwacking thru the brush!

Just another cool shot w/ Shane portaging.

Oh the joys of a solo boat

See the star?or planet? or heavenly being, or whatever?

    God is amazing!

    This is what I do

    Look Daddy! A moose!

The survivors. Our group name was "Lost and Found"

The first thing after any trip is to find the closest DQ. : )
